Minor League Report: Enmanuel Bonilla hit his first home run of the season, Orelvis Martinez hit his ninth home run, and more!

Moreover, Damiano Palmegiani hit his sixth home run of the season, while Will Robertson , Nathan Lukes , and Spencer Horwitz hit doubles, with the latter hitting his 11th double of the season.

In terms of multi-hit games, Will Robertson had a single and a double, while Steward Berroa hit three singles. Payton Henry had the other hit for the Bisons.

Paolo Espino finished the game with a line of 5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, with two home runs given up. Mike Mayers pitched an inning and a third, striking out a batter and picking up the win, while Hayden Juenger pitched a clean inning. Hagen Danner allowed an earned run and a walk while striking out a batter.

Wednesday

In their first game of the doubleheader, the Bisons defeated the Red Sox 11-2, while losing the second game 4-0. Overall, their record now stands at 20-15.

Nathan Lukes hit the only home run for the Bisons on Wednesday, finishing with a 3-3 day with four RBI and a walk. Spencer Horwitz also had a 3-3 day with a double and a walk, while Damiano Palmegiani went 2-4 with three RBIs. Other players with a hit were Addison Barger , Will Robertson, Rafael Lantigua , and Steward Berroa, all were singles.

Chad Dallas picked up his first win as a Bison, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K with two home runs allowed to bring his season ERA to 7.16. Joel Kuhnel made his Blue Jays’ organization debut, pitching an inning and allowing two hits, while Brandon Eisert struck out a batter and allowed a hit in an inning pitched.

There weren’t nearly the same number of hits in the second game, as Nathan Lukes had a single, while Rafael Lantigua had two singles, comprising the only hits for the Bisons.

Troy Watson started the second game of the doubleheader, finishing with a line of 3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K with a home run given up. Paxton Schultz had a tough day at the office, giving up three earned runs in two innings pitched, while Mason Fluharty struck out a batter and walked a batter in his inning of work.

New Hampshire lost on Tuesday, but shutout Harrisburg on Wednesday

On Tuesday, the Fisher Cats lost to the Harrisburg Senators 7-5, but rebounded with a 4-0 win on Wednesday.

Tuesday

Devonte Brown was the player of the game for the Fisher Cats on Tuesday, as he hit his third home run of the season (and the first that went over the fence), and finished with three of New Hampshire’s eight hits.

Alex De Jesus also hit a home run, his first of the season, while Josh Kasevich had two singles in a multi-hit game. Other players with a hit were Rainer Nuñez and Miguel Hiraldo, both singles.

Michael Dominguez started the game for the Fisher Cats, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (2 R), 2 BB, 6 K to bring his season ERA to 3.54. Hunter Gregory was tagged with a blown save, as he gave up three earned runs in his inning pitched, while Trevor Clifton was tagged with the loss, striking out four but giving up two earned runs. Ryan Boyer pitched the final inning, striking out two and giving up a hit.

Wednesday

The Fisher Cats fared better on Wednesday, winning 4-0 to bring their season record to 12-16, occupying last place in the Eastern League Northeast division.

Zach Britton hit the games’ lone home run, his third of the season, while Michael Turconi and Riley Tirotta both had doubles. The latter was the only player with a multi-hit game, while Rainer Nuñez, Andres Sosa, Devonte Brown, and Alex De Jesus all finished the game with a single.

For his second straight start, Devereaux Harrison had an outing where he didn’t give up a run, this time finishing with a line of 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 8 K. Abdeil Mendoza picked up the win, striking out three and allowing two walks in three innings pitched. Eric Pardinho once again had a great outing, striking out two in two innings pitched.

Vancouver lost Tuesday, won on Wednesday

In the first game of the series against the Everett AquaSox, the Vancouver Canadians fell 5-3, but were able to defeat them 5-4 on Wednesday.

Tuesday

Despite just three runs, the Canadians had a ton of hits, finishing with 11 on the day. What they lacked though, was extra-base hits as Brennan Orf had the only extra-base hit, a double. Dasan Brown, Jace Bohrofen, Jeffrey Wehler, Jaden Rudd, and Glenn Santiago all had two singles to finish with multi-hit games.

Pat Gallagher started the game, finishing with a line of 3 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 4.97. Alex Amalfi gave up two earned runs in two innings pitched, but Rafael Ohashi still hasn’t given up an earned run this season in 11.2 innings pitched, as he pitched two clean innings with a strikeout.

Chay Yeager also pitched a clean inning with a strikeout, while Josh Mollerus struck out the side in his clean inning.

Wednesday

Wednesday went better for the Canadians, defeating the AquaSox 5-4 to bring their season record to 12-12.

Once again, Brennan Orf had the team’s only extra-base hit, this time a triple. The 2023-draftee finished with two hits, but the standout of this game was Jommer Hernandez who had three singles and three RBIs in four at bats. Ryan McCarty and Dylan Rock had the team’s other two hits.

Geison Urbaez had his best start of the season, pitching five no-hit innings with five strikeouts and three walks. Grayson Thurman was tagged with a blown save, giving up three earned runs in two innings pitched, while Anders Tolhurst picked up the win, giving up an earned run, a hit, a walk, and striking out a batter in his inning of work. Johnathan Lavallee recorded the save, striking out a batter while allowing a hit and a walk.

Dunedin suffers two consecutive walk offs

It wasn’t a great two-day stretch for the Dunedin Blue Jays, as they fell 8-7 to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels on Tuesday, and 5-4 in 11 innings on Wednesday.

Tuesday 

Heading into the bottom of the ninth, the D-Jays had a 7-3 lead, but gave up five runs, yikes.

Cristian Feliz had the team’s only home run in this game, while Victor Arias and Yhoangel Aponte both had doubles. Aponte  had the only multi-hit day for the Jays, while Tucker Toman, Arjun Nimmala, Maykel Minoso, Ricardo Hernandez, and Bryce Arnold all had singles.

Canadian Connor O’Halloran had a great start, finishing with a line of 5.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER (3 R), 3 BB, 9 K with two home runs given up. Eliander Alcalde pitched two innings from the bullpen, giving up a hit and a single, but striking out a batter. Trouble started when Yondrei Rojas took the mound, as he gave up four earned runs in an inning + of work, with Kai Peterson picking up the blown save and the loss, giving up a grand slam.

Wednesday

Although the D-Jays were walked off again, they actually forced extra innings with the tying run in the top of the ninth. However, a sac fly in the bottom 11th ended the game, giving Dunedin a 12-17 record.

There were no home runs hit in this game for either team, but Jean Joseph and Tucker Toman both hit doubles, while Daniel Pérez hit his third triple of the season (he has just four hits?). Pérez also hit a single, his first non-triple of the season, while Joseph also had a multi-hit game. Other players with a hit were Victor Arias and Edward Duran.

Juaron Watts-Brown had a strong start, finishing the game with a line of 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER (4 R), 3 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 4.88. Bo Bonds had an eventful inning, walking two batters but striking out the side. Keiner Leon pitched 2.1 innings, giving up three hits but striking out a batter and not allowing a run. Aaron Munson was tagged with the loss, giving up a hit and an unearned run.

FCL Jays were walked off 

It was a tough two days for Florida-based affiliates, as the FCL Jays were also walked off on Tuesday, falling 8-7. However, they were off on Wednesday.

It may not be long until Enmanuel Bonilla is called up to Dunedin, as he finished the day with two hits, one of which was a three-run home run, his first of the season. Gregori Cano also had a multi-hit game, finishing the day with two singles. Kendry Chirinos and Aneudi Escanio both had singles as well.

Daniel Guerra started the game, finishing with a line of 3 IP, 8 H, 3 ER (4 R), 2 BB, 1 K, while Raudy Gomez pitched two innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Jorge Guerra gave up an earned run, but struck out three over two innings pitched. Julio Ortiz was tagged with a blown save, giving up two earned runs in two innings pitched along with a strikeout, while Lluveres Severino gave up an unearned run in extra innings for the loss.
